Mindcoach & Nutritionist
Aisling registered Associate Nutritionist with the UKVRN, and is registered with the Complementary Therapists Association (CThA).
During my initial studies in Human Nutrition I began to develop a keen interest in health & food psychology and how emotions and stress can create, affect and maintain very real physical conditions. Upon graduating in 2011 with First Class Honours, I worked in weight loss research for the University of Ulster (NICHE) and in Health Promotion for a government agency. After seeing the futility of just giving people factual information about weight loss and healthy eating, I became much more in the 'how' of getting people to change their habits. I became very interested in the impact of stress n physical health. I went on to find more effective ways of inspiring sustainable lifestyle change and studied Neuro-lingustic programming (NLP) and Hypnotherapy and after a freelance year joined the renowned Belfast Chiropractic Clinic in 2013. I now work with people for varying issues, but specialise in clients with stress, anxiety and other emotional issues. Having seen first hand the success and life-changing results that Hypnotherapy and Mindcoaching can have for IBS, I decided I must let more people know that real help is available.
I linked up with Claire and with the additional support of other therapists at the Belfast Chiropractic Clinic, we are offering the only IBS treatment plan in Northern Ireland with fully integrated care and understanding of this complex condition.
Claire is a Registered Nutritional Therapist and a member of the British Association of Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy (BANT) and the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC).
My approach to nutrition and wellness is underpinned by the principles of functional medicine – that all systems of the body are interlinked and that the body has an innate ability to heal itself, given the right conditions.
Over the years in practice, I found almost all of my clients were presenting with some form of gut imbalance. Gut health recovery has become a specific area of interest for me and the results I have been seeing with clients is mirrored in the latest research in digestive health. Aisling and I started discussing our shared experience of working with IBS and we discovered that we could combine skills to achieve better outcomes for our clients.
I use a wide range of tools to assess and identify potential physical and nutritional imbalances and understand how these may contribute to an individual’s symptoms and health concerns. This approach allows me to work on an individual level and help support the body towards achieving and maintaining excellent health. Nutritional Therapy is recognised as a complementary medicine and is relevant for individuals with chronic conditions, as well as those looking for support to enhance their health and wellbeing.
